Educator

With over 40 years experience as an educator, academic and writer, I now have a few vacancies for violin, viola, piano and theory of music students..  

Alongside private teaching, I have worked with choirs and choral groups as well as tutoring strings groups and orchestras for young people and adults, as well as worked in schools, universities and training colleges. My own group, Palenka! has just restarted.

Hymnodist

Since completing my Ph.D. on the development of hymn books in hymn singing cultures, I have worked as a freelance academic and writing. I have explored all aspects of hymnody from local, global, historical and contemporary perspectives. I have given conference papers and led workshops all over the world and am actively involved in a project in Nigeria.

I am currently writing a biography of Ann Mounsey Bartholomew (1811-1891)

Musician

I trained as a professional viola player and then worked as a church musician and teacher in Germany and

continue to play the viola in local groups and orchestras including Banbury Symphony Orchestra, Bicester’s own orchestra, Trinity Camerata and Warwickshire Baroque. Purely for pleasure, I especially enjoy playing piano duets.
